Tux Paint - Open Source Drawing Software for Children
There are a lot of kids of early ages who love to draw. But, together with the progress in technology, crayons and paper just aren't enough anymore. Using the computer for drawing offers a lot more possibilities than just drawing on paper. The Windows Paint program has a simple interface and may be used by children. Unfortunately, the possibilities of this program are very limited and children might notice that. Adobe Photoshop isn't a good idea either, because it's too complicated and has too many features. A software that offers the right balance between simplicity and features is Tux Paint. The program allows kids between 3 and 12 years old to expand their creativity while drawing, using a lot of tools, offering the possibility to express themselves in any way they like.
Tux Paint is a Windows application and can be run using almost any version of this Windows operating system. The installation process is simple enough to be carried out almost by anyone, as a few clicks are all that takes to get the software installed. The system resources required are lower than other similar programs and same is the hard disk space occupied.
The interface of Tux Paint has a pleasant graphical aspect that allows kids to use it from the first minute they launch the program. There are numerous drawing tools available and each one of them can be accessed using graphical buttons. Besides drawing, kids can also apply different types of stamps to the image. Text can also be added.
After the image is complete, Tux Paint allows saving it in various graphical formats or printing it directly.

Finding the right tool may seem a bit difficult at first because of the large number of them.
